Faultrep.dll

The faultrep.dll is part of the Windows XP Dynamic Link Library system. As an important support file, faultrep.dll is designed to report faults throughout the entire operating system (hence the name). This file must function properly for the Windows fault reporting system to work.

What causes the Faultrep.dll Error?

Dll errors occur when files are missing or corrupt. This can happen when a third party file attempts to take the place of the original file. These third party files do not contain all of the pieces necessary to function properly and generally cause problems in your operating system.

Once the computer recognizes the problem, you will receive a dll error message that identifies the faultrep.dll as the problem source. The faultrep.dll error should not cause too much trouble standing alone, but if another major problem or error occurs, your system can suffer significant damage from the inability to properly report it. To avoid this, be sure to fix the dll error quickly.

Example of a Faultrep.dll Error

The dll error message you receive may look similar to this:

“ERROR: Symbol file could not be found. Defaulted to export symbols for C:\WINDOWS\system32\faultrep.dll”

If you have received a dll error message and faultrep.dll is to blame, be sure you repair the problem immediately.

How to correct this Dll Error

To repair the faultrep.dll manually, you will need to find a replacement file (the original) that functions properly. Then you can override the malfunctioning file. This can take awhile to complete.

To ensure the safe and effective removal of the dll error, use a registry cleaner. A registry cleaner finds the errors and cleans the file so that the program can function normally again.
